Offline-first by default
ThoughtCache is designed to work entirely on your device. Your notes, recordings, transcripts, tasks, spaces, briefings, and the AI that processes them never leave your phone unless you explicitly turn on Cloud Sync. With sync off, we hold no copy of your content.
What we store when Cloud Sync is on
If you enable Cloud Sync (a paid feature), an encrypted-at-rest mirror of your notes, tasks, spaces, briefings, chats, and the computed Thought Map graph is stored in Google Firebase, scoped privately to your account. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We never use your content to train any model.
Account & billing data
Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google or Apple). If you subscribe, billing is processed by Stripe; we store only a Stripe customer reference and your subscription status — never your card details.
Your rights
You can export everything we hold at any time from your account page, and permanently delete your cloud account and all synced data with one click. Deleting your cloud account never affects the data stored locally on your device.
On-device AI
The Gemma model that transcribes audio and extracts thoughts runs locally. Audio and text it processes are read from your local database and are not transmitted for processing.
